Stokes receives Canada's DORA award as Best actor in a Musical for his performance as Coalhouse Walker, Jr. in the Toronto production of RAGTIME. The "Dora" is Canada's version of the
"Tony" award. Unfortunately Stokes is not at the ceremony to accept the award because he is still performing RAGTIME at the Shubert theater in Los Angeles, but his award is graciously accepted by
Mark Cassius, one of Stokes' Canadian cast mates from the original Toronto production.

1st recording session for Dreamworks' first animated feature "Prince of Egypt" which is the story of Moses. Stokes is the singing voice of "Jethro" in a big song/sequence called
"Through Heaven's Eyes" that teaches Moses about his spirituality. The Music and Lyrics are by Stephen Schwartz and the orchestrations and score are by Hans Zimmer. Stokes says it looks
like it will be "incredible." It is set for release in the fall of 1998.
