For this cover I wanted a design that represented both the author (it’s his face you see repeated), and computer technology--basically the way a computer might see a person. This cover started with a scanner--I had the book author place his face directly on the scanner. I then used illustration software to autotrace his face to turn it into a kind of topographic map. I had the author
